Independent Masters Rowers

To continue to provide options for masters rowers of all types, we have Independent Rowing for masters rowers who want to be able to coordinate their own rowing schedule outside of a structured, coached program.

Using BRC Equipment

To be an Independent Rower and use BRC's rowing equipment, you must:

1) Have a current Masters Rowing Pass

2) Pass a Flip Test with an approved coach
3) Have a current USRowing waiver
4) Use the Boat Sign Out system to reserve a date/time for any boat you want to take out (coached programs get equipment priority)

Using Personal/Private Equipment

To be an Independent Rower and use/launch/store your own personal/private equipment onsite, you must:

1) Have a current Masters Rowing Pass

2) Pass a Flip Test with an approved coach
3) Have a current USRowing waiver
4) Use the Boat Sign Out system to reserve a date/time for any BRC boat you want to take out (coached programs get equipment priority)
5) Pay a Private Equipment Storage fee

Regattas

Independent Rowers who want to compete in regattas outside what BRC plans on attending may do so under the BRC name, but they are responsible for all of their own entry fees, transportation, schedules, etc. However, if they want to use BRC equipment for the regatta, they need to coordinate with the Program Director.
